EFS Event 1 - Exploring Play in Nature

Date Time Address
28/10/2017 9:30am-12pm or 1-3.30pm Play Australia Conference Roon
Westerfolds park
Fitzsimons Lane, Templestowe, Victoria

EEEC invites Educators and Families of the City of Manningham to a half day immersion in nature play. Come and explore the value of Education for Sustainability and Nature Play for very young children.

What will the session cover? This interactive session lead by Stephanie Willey and Bronwyn Joslyn from EEEC will explore the benefits of nature play and how it can be authentically embedded into daily lives of children and families through Early Childhood Education. The session will include two case studies: Yarralea’s bush kinder and playgroup program where the journey of setting up the opportunity will be shared, inevitably sharing knowledge for creating similar opportunities for children and families. Diamond Creek Memorial Kindergarten’s recent ecoliteracy project where children inspired their own ‘out and about tours’ exploring their own local community.
